Balancing the emotions by Marijke Lambregtse

Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the back.

Balancing the emotions is a continuation on the concept of salt and the metaphorical and metaphysical properties and meanings of it. An important crystal we can’t live without. And one of these properties is balancing the emotions which is the inspiration for this latest painting. I actually used salt on the painting to see what it would do with the paint. It gave it a very nice extra texture and made the paint much slower dry especially because it was quite humid with the rain we had. I mixed it with paint medium so once dried it will last for ever. Once dried I loved it. So still pondering about salt, sun and time while listening to Bruce Cockburn and later to the gentle voice of Katie Melua to give this work the finishing touch.
So salt, an important crystal we can’t live without, sun we can’t live without and time we like to have forever. My inspiration for this painting!

The sides of the canvas are painted pink but can be changed to suit the wall and room where it comes to hang.
