‘Banksia’ Original Artwork by Joanna Greenwood is inspired by her trip to the Blue Mountains in NSW following the bushfires of 2019-2020. There were areas where the fire hadn’t touched the bushland, sitting side by side with the devastation. It made the strength, texture and colour of these beauties even more moving. This piece is unframed and was drawn using soft pastels with quick and strong marks that have been layered to give depth to the floral spikes and fruiting cones. The cotton rag paper added to the movement of the pastels when drawing and gave texture to the piece. Signed and with a certificate of authenticity, the paper is warm white cotton rag at 300gsm with a decked edge.
