Additional Information

‘Banksia Robur Still I’ by Smith & Brooks is an original painting from the collection, ‘Morning Light’.

Banksia Robur or Swamp Banksia is found all along the east coast of Australia from west of Melbourne in the south through to Gladstone in the north, and grows wild along the coast near Port Stephens, where Jacky spent some of her younger years. This bold banksia can withstand fire, flood and sea with its incredible regenerative ability, making it an iconic coastal species.

The colour palette of ‘Banksia Robur Still I’ was drawn from early morning walks beside the beach when both the light and the colours of the landscape are soft.  ‘Banksia Robur Still I’ has been created in conjunction with ‘Coastal Banksia Still III’ and ‘Silver Banksia Still I‘, and together these works create a calming sense of reflection.

This artwork comes framed in a sustainably sourced oak float frame, ready to hang. The framed size of the work is 79cm x 79cm x 5.5cm
