Additional Information

Banksia Serrata Still V by Smith & Brooks

Is an original painting from the collection, ‘Coastal Noir’.

Banksia serrata, also known as saw banksia and old man banksia, can be found along the east coast of Australia from southern Queensland through to Victoria, with small pockets of growth as far south as Tasmania. In this piece, the foliage of the banksia serrata is spilling out from a simple central pot.

The colour palette of ‘Banksia Serrata Still V’ has been inspired by the blackened trunks of banksia that have been touched by bushfire. There is also a hint of the muted yellows inspired by the blooms of this iconic coastal native. ‘Banksia Serrata Still V’ has been created in conjunction with ‘Banksia Serrata Still III’ and ‘Coastal Hibiscus Still I’, with the set bringing a sense of deep reflection when hung together.

This artwork comes framed in a sustainably sourced oak float frame, ready to hang. The framed size of the work is 123cm x 103cm x 5.5cm
