Additional Information

Be Your Own Light by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic paint, acrylic ink & acrylic brush pen on stretched canvas.

I started applying white markings and stencilling to one of my multi coloured layered bases.

Usually I use white to lighten a darker base followed by applying a glaze or glazes as I build further layers. In this case however, I had a strong urge to keep my additions white as I built subsequent layers.

I continued to add white details intuitively. Using my imagination as my only reference, along with her title (which came to me part way through her creation) to influence me. I kept layering white details until I felt she was complete.

Painted details have been taken around her canvas edges. Signed on the back.

This dreamy and expressive artwork was a joy to create and I believe you can feel that when you look at her.

How delightful would this unique creation look in your chosen space?

Please check dimensions as my in situ examples are for display purposes only and may not be to scale.
