I chose these colours to create beauty and drama while capturing an ethereal light filtered through clouds. The stylised and simple bay allows the painting to breathe and ties the background and foreground into a cohesive whole.
Every storm over water looks different and the colours never cease to amaze, especially how light is reflected on and within clouds. I’ve tried to capture that beauty in this painting.
