Beach Days I is inspired by the coastal landscapes of the Victorian Peninsula. Charlotte interprets forms from nature (rainbow arcs, rock formations, seaside horizons, rising tides etc) in a hard-edged style. This painting continues her fascination with layering and juxtaposing vivid colour, experimenting with ideas of transparency and solidity to evoke a sense of calm, joy, light and equilibrium.
