Birds Eye View… Redcliffe Foreshore by Jamie Congdon –

This is from my mind’s eye or a bird’s eye view from the window of the gallery were i have a small studio. The Seaside Artists Gallery is such a cool space, and the staff are amazing, so come and visit me and view my work as an artloversaustralia client for a closer view. I used this idea of the “bird’s eye view” often when depicting land or seascape or city scapes, particularly when i have a fondness or an empathy for what i am depicting…i also like to insert myself into the work as i paint it…showing me actually there painting. You’ll see what I mean as you view some of my paintings. There are cranes on the horizon which are the docks over at Port of Brisbane, Fishermans Island…they look like large long necked creatures…this is not accidental and if you visit Redcliffe you’ll understand this painting a bit better…the work is rich in texture.
