Black Palm Solitude I by Smith & Brooks is a limited-edition print of the original painting from the collection, ‘Lush Surrounds’.

The black palm or normanbya normanbyi is a vulnerable species found only in one small area of the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage Site. The black palm was a valuable resource for the original indigenous inhabitants of the area and an important food source for both cassowaries and sulphur-crested cockatoos.

‘Black Palm Solitude I’ is part of the 2024 tropical collection and has been created with a bold colour palette inspired by the Far North Queensland coastline where the rainforest meets the sea. ‘Black Palm Solitude I’ works in harmony with other pieces from the collection including ‘Native Monstera Moment I’ and the fan palm works creating a sense of tropical immersion.

Each product comes printed with our signature mark on the front and is individually numbered on the back.

Limited edition 100 on high quality 310gsm Hahnemühle Natural Line, Agave Fine Art paper. Each comes with an extra white border for ease of handling for your framer. Made up of 70% agave, this fine art paper is created with less environmental impact than traditional fine art papers.

Also available ready to hang on stretched canvas. Optional float frame available in matte black or oak timber. All canvas prints are made to order so please allow 4 weeks for dispatch of your order.
