Additional Information

Blue Coast by Meg Shaw.

This painting is a mixed media piece, using mainly environmentally friendly acrylics, inks and charcoal. As always, I’ve used brushes, palette knives, dabbing rags and fingers as my tools.

‘Blue Coast’ is an original, small painting on stetched canvas and is ready to hang (it will also stand if you wish). It’s framed in Tasmanian Oak, measuring aproximately 45 x 55 cm.

The style is contemporary, expressionism. I’ve recently reworked this landscape from an old painting that I felt didn’t quite express what I wanted to say. The finished art work is an impression of a wintery coastline scene, complete with scrubby plants and rough dunes. The colours are dominantly shades of blue, with contrasting ochre, whites, black, grey and mauve. It has been painted with respect to Wadawurrung country and Gunditjmara country and is a merging of remembered images of the south-western Victorian coastline.

The photos show the finished artwork, close-ups, in situ and various angles of the frame. Please note that the situ shots are virtual and meant to show what the painting might look like hanging on a wall.

‘Blue Coast ‘ will be sent to you via Auspost. It will be placed in a protective crate, wrapped in recycled bubble wrap and packed in recycled cardboard. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity. As I live in rural Tasmania now, please allow a little more time for postage. Thank you.

A quote from a fellow artist after viewing ‘Blue Coast’

“The clouds cocooned me into the scene.” Sharon Leeds, fibre artist.
