Johanna Beach is just off the Great Ocean Road and not too far from where I live. The ocean there is wild and unpredictable – too dangerous for swimming and only the bravest surf there. Sometimes, when it’s really rough, I can feel the vibration of the waves crashing along the shore through the earth beneath my feet…..thrilling and scary at the same time!

Two roads drop down from the Otway Ranges and lead to Johanna Beach – Blue Johanna Road and Red Johanna Road. In this area the undergrowth is low and filled with wildflowers in Spring…..
