“Blue Ophelia” – Fiona Thorning

“Blue Ophelia ” is my nib pen and indigo ink study of the famous painting “Ophelia ” (1851) by Millais.
I have always loved Millais painting and thought it would be a wonderful project to draw in ink with a traditional nib pen. I am very pleased with the result. The work blends delicate ink washes with detailed mark making representing the vegetation, water and fabric. The frame is free for you and demonstrates how beautiful this work is when hung.
The medium is indigo ink, applied with a nib pen and watercolour washes on Fabriano paper. Image: 68cm W x 40cm H. Frame 87 x 62cm
