Blue Wrens are one of my favourite birds. So delicate and sweet. The flash of blue in the wings is so attractive. Loosely painted in an impressionist style. Small pieces of extremely thin ceramic have been added to the surface in select places for added interest to the piece.

This piece is a large format painting with loose brushstrokes. The colours used are mostly transparent which really makes the colours become very vibrant. The surface has been covered with a protective layer of acrylic sealer which has enhanced the beautiful, rich colour.
