Additional Information

Blue Wren meeting by Ivana Pinaffo – I have tried many times to take photos of blue wrens but with no success.
Therefore, I viewed many images online and created my painting.

The male Blue-breasted Fairy-wren is a stunning bird. With radiant, violet-blue plumage on its head and down its back, combined with a rich-rufous patch on its wings, few birds have such richly-coloured feathers. Contrasting with this splendour are the non-breeding males and the female birds, which are drab grey-brown above and off-white below.

Often seen in flocks of up to 10 birds, the Blue-breasted Fairy-wren inhabits dense vegetation in the understory of open woodlands, heathlands and mallee scrub. They are rather shy birds, and are often difficult to spot as they flit among the understory.

A small painting that would look lovely in any room.
