Growing up in the countryside of the Scottish Highlands foxes were common. Big, healthy and bushy tailed they would catch the corner of your eye as they passed. They have always reminded me of spring and summer when the landscape was lush and flowers were blooming.

This painting plays with colour and tone with rich watercolour washes all held together with black ink lines. All the visual elements are pared down to geometric shapes similar to a stained glass design and the nature of watercolour lets the light shine through. Painted on heavily textured watercolour paper the whole painting has a tactility to it.
