In Bold Encounter, an array of luscious greens and radiant blues converge — fluorescent greens, light greens, emerald, ultramarine, and phthalo blues, punctuated by flashes of hot pink and magenta. What else could such a collision of colour be, if not a bold encounter?

These dense, vibrant tones erupt against a light-filled, fluorescent background, creating a vivid fracas of energy and emotion. As I worked on this piece, I allowed instinct to guide the brush — layering colour rapidly, pushing contrasts, letting each mark respond to the last. There’s an urgency to the gestures, a dialogue between spontaneity and control.

I’m captivated by how these assertive colours provoke me — urging boldness, inviting expression, and demanding a voice that is loud, layered, and unapologetically involved.

Artwork is varnished, providing protection against environmental factors whilst enhancing the pigments in colours.
