Boorabee Fossicking by Meg Shaw

‘Boorabee Fossicking’ has been reduced in price to sell from $1050 to $850.

The Boorabee area (Glen Innes) in NSW has rough sapphires laying in the surrounding creek beds – yellows, blues, reds and greens.

My impression of these beautiful sapphires has been created by working with vivid alcohol ink on yupo paper. It is both original and hand painted. I  haven’t used brushes to create the visual textures, but only movement of wet ink and a blow dryer. This piece was created with respect to the local Ngarbal community, in recognition of the koala, the spirit emblem of the area.

‘Boorabee Fossicking’ has been framed professionally at Metropolis Gallery Geelong (with a black frame and a white mounting card). The painting surface is protected with clear perspex. The complete work measures approximately 66 x 87cm and the frame is approximately 3.5cm deep.

The photos show the completed painting, frame and situ shots. Please note that the situ shots are virtual and meant to show what the painting might look like hanging on a wall.

‘Boorabee Fossicking’ will be posted to you via Auspost with a certificate of authenticity. It will be protected inside a crate, wrapped in recycled bubble wrap and packed in recycled cardboard. As I live in rural Tasmania now, please allow a little more time for delivery. Thank you.
