Bubble Magic by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic ink, acrylic paint, gauche sticks and acrylic ink pens on stretched canvas.

When I started to create Bubble Magic I was feeling the flow of watery inspired abstracts.

This piece started with many intuitive layers, of acrylic ink & paint, to create a deep watery abstract scene.  Using different methods to manoeuvre and coax my mediums to move and flow in different directions. At times I delved in with my fingers….felt like I was in kindergarten again.

I moved on to add more direct, specific markings, glazes, to develop the layers of detail, evoking the feeling, mood and look of a imaginary sea or ocean landscape.

Added abstract bubbles & glazing, in flows across my canvas, until I felt Bubble Magic was complete.

Sides of the canvas painted in a dark bluey black followed by a washy lightening glaze to blend with the painting.

Signed on the front.
