Additional Information

“Butterfly Blue” by Teresa Franks – an original acrylic painting on canvas. Unframed but Ready to Hang.

“When I was a child in the Australian bush, my grandfather loved to catch butterflies. He had a net, would catch them, gently put them in a jar and then put them in a little building he built called his “Opera House” in a glass case he created. While I look back now with much sadness for the butterflies’ demise, I was fascinated to look at them when we would visit him.”

“Butterfly Blue” is an ode to the butterfly and represents the butterfly covering the eyes so they cannot be seen and then other butterflies being free to fly away. The butterflies also represent transformation and personal growth, the blue and the purple signifying connection to the divine, the green also signifying growth.
