Spotted along coastal swamplands and forest margins from Queensland to Victoria the cabbage tree palm is a well known beachside staple. This iconic Australian coastal palm has an almost architectural feel to its structure with huge fanned fronds reaching out from its solid central trunk.

The bold palette used for ‘Cabbage Tree Palm Moment II’ and its sister piece, ‘Cabbage Tree Palm Moment I’ is drawn from the shadowy bushland understory where Jacky found this particular palm. When hung with other works from the Coastal Noir collection a sense of depth and contemplation is created within the space.
