Calm after the storm by Sibylle Zinnocker

Moody and reminiscent of the calm after a storm, when the dark clouds are still around but you can see the light returning, this piece is full of emotions and playing off the contrast of dark and light.

As an intuitive painter, I am very influenced by the state of my mind and usually my subconscious takes over and I don’t know what my paintings are about until I reflect after I’ve finished. In this case I attended a very inspiring talk and part of the conversation was about the fact that water can hold emotions and how water can calm the spirit.
Finished with two layers of satin varnish for protection, unframed and sides are painted in blue to match the mid tone of the artwork. I always sign my work on the back, so the orientation can be changed depending on the buyers preference.
