Catch of the Day by Sue Hill

This small painting is portrayed in acrylics and an iridescent medium in a landscape format.  Sue used dots of masking fluid over a coloured background to show the patterns of scales on the fish.  (The masking tape is rubbed off leaving dots of colour.)

Her inspiration for the Catch of the Day came from witnessing crates of fish being off-loaded from a fishing trawler onto a Napier wharf early one morning.

She has painted the edges black and it is wired and ready to hang.   The painting has been sealed with a satin varnish and it is signed on the back.
