Synopsis
A comment on the weight loss and beauty industry. A billion dollar industry that thrives on societies insecurities and constant need to ‘look better’. Break the cycle and like yourself. This is a revisit to an artwork I painted 11 years ago. I was living in Shanghai and I had such poor self esteem. A lot of my paintings were of timid, skinny looking women. I re-used the image of the woman to contradict the words on the canvas ‘Cause anarchy by liking yourself’.
