Centrolepis Form II by Smith & Brooks is an original painting from the collection, ‘Southern Melody’.

The tiny centrolepis strigosa grows only a few centimetres in size so you will have to look closely to find it. Hidden in grasslands and heath this beautiful native is found radiating out from Melbourne to most corners of Australia. Its tufted form is reminiscent of a bouquet on a miniature scale.

Centrolepis Form II has been created with a bold palette of deep greys, and red-browns to enhance it’s natural outline. It is cradled with a ribbon of desaturated pink – a colour drawn from its tiny blooms.

This artwork comes framed in Australian oak float frame, ready to hang. The framed size of the work is 33cm x 33cm x 5.4cm.
