Additional Information

Coastal Hibiscus Still I by Smith & Brooks is an original painting from the collection, ‘Coastal Noir’.

Hibiscus tiliaceus goes by many names including coastal hibiscus, kurrajong and coastal cottonwood. This much loved beachside native can be found along the coast of Queensland through to the New South Wales coastal areas around Sydney. Coastal Hibiscus Still I features flowers in different stages of bloom along with its heart shaped leaves set in a glass vessel.

The colour palette of Coastal Hibiscus Still I was drawn from the dark shadowy pockets found under this dense native tree, highlighted with the deep accents found in the waxy red centres of each hibiscus flower.  Coastal Hibiscus Still I has been created in conjunction with Banksia Serrata Still III and the pair bring a sense of deep reflection when hung together.

This artwork comes framed in sustainably sourced oak float frame, ready to hang. The framed size of the work is 63cm x 93cm x 5.5cm
