Coral Clouds at Last Light by Sam Askin

My favourite cloud colour is without a doubt this coral-orange-pink-hybrid variation that occurs just as the dun fades below the horizon. Any cloud in a clear sky can catch and reflect this colour… it looks just as amazing on the thin abstract-looking clouds of this work as it does on a heavily overcast evening. I love looking up into a clear sky and seeing the blue transition towards space above; like we are under a glass dome holding in all of these colours and clouds. So, while this little work doesn’t appear to “show” much, it represents a huge amount going on above our heads and around us at a very specific time of the day, and one that I always try to capture.
