Resting on a richly textured vintage quilt, we seem to be witnessing some kind of stolen moment. Perhaps the most pertinent symbolism of the Apple in this vignette is that of forbidden fruit or fertility. The Apple is perfect, shiny and red. The gloves are from the past, they have not been worn for many years but they are still lovely. Ladies these days  prefer the natural look and a nice manicure.
