Crash Test Dummies: by Brendan Walsh (ColdGhost) | Diptych

Neo Pop Painting on 2 Canvases, chronicling the rise of the machines taking over the roads..

Childhood fantasies of future technology, Robot comics and Astro Boy Cartoons, collide with the soul crushing reality of 2023 Big Tech.

Pumping all our personal data into social media apps, likes & dislikes, holiday snaps, the kids, the dog..

All this juicy information to be sold off to advertisers; ready to capitalise on every insecurity and desire.

Lets boldly march forward, phone in hand, agreeing to all T’s & C’s…

This original Mixed Media Artwork was created first by layering paint and recycled paper to build up the Abstract background effect.

This artwork continues my experimentation with using different techniques to apply the paint Sponges, rags, plastic, scrapers, paint pens, spray packs, & stencils.

The artwork is a large statement Neo Pop piece and will give maximum impact to any room.

My art is directly influenced by Graffiti in City Laneways, Vintage Billboards and other weathered surfaces & is also inspired by my love of gestural abstraction and my obsession with using spray paint.

Insitu examples are not to scale.

The work comes on 2 quality canvases and is painted black around the edges and is ready to hang as is.
