Crevices 1 by Elena Berkovich

Acrylic on Caravaggio linen, 100 X 100 cm. ready to hang, unframed.

Crevices are there to let our light shine: When light breaks us to the point of cracking, it just helps our light to shine brighter.

These body of works represent the abstract landscape of the psyche.

Artwork’s marks are scattered in fragments, some in inconspicuous spots throughout the space, inviting viewers to search and imagine.

Heavenly influenced by colours and textures of my native and beloved Mexico, and its artists. There is a crevice in everything, in everyone, that’s how the light shines out…

Elena Berkovich has intentionally ignored the realistic representation of landscapes, investigating other abstract aspects of scenes and life cracks. Reduced imaginary, rough Surfaces, shadows and many colour layers represent these body of works. The arrangement of these is expressive, the empty spaces, the composition, everything has its share.
