  • Cubical

Additional Information

This painting, I just realised, was influenced by the last couple of tv series we have watched at home, which evolved around office life and dynamics. I was left feeling sorry for the people who exist in such a ferocious environment.

The cube represents the figure’s inner most thoughts and nature which is held separate to and outside of the body, almost as if it is ashamed of them.

I did want the painting to have a sense of loneliness about it.

Also, in the title, putting an ‘e’ on the end of the word ‘cubical’ changes its meaning from being a geometric word, to meaning an office partition.
