Daddy’s Girl by Paula Maggs – There was I time in my life when I adored my father. Everything he said was immutable truth-he could do or say no wrong. He was my bedrock. Things became more complicated as I grew older. His strict religious worldview and disciplinary stance allowed for no questioning, especially as my love for him was tinged with fear.
I not only rebelled, I spiraled down a very dark path. I feel like I was a disappointment, and our relationship never fully recovered.

This work is a bittersweet memory of that earlier time. A portrait of complete devotion.
