This painting captures the vast openness of the Australian outback, where endless red earth meets a clear blue sky. Two long, pale dirt roads intersect in the foreground, forming a striking cross that cuts through the landscape like a compass pointing to the horizon. Small clusters of green and white trees punctuate the scene, their scattered presence emphasising the scale and emptiness of the land. In the distance, low rust-coloured ranges rise gently against the skyline, their shapes softened by light. Tania Chanter is an Australian contemporary artist who has the desire to express emotion she feels from nature.
