Additional Information

Deep Blue by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic ink & acrylic paint on stretched canvas.

I started with no preconceived ideas of what I was going to create……I just started painting in my intuitive way.

After many layers of applying ink, paint and markings I saw a whale shape forming therefore I had no choice but to apply further paint to create the obvious silhouette of my whale, leaving all the details of the previous layers on show to form his majestic body.

As my layers grew my colour palette morphed into rich blue and greens of the ocean, leaving some of the colours of my earlier layers peeking through.

Further layers added to create a lush, serene underwater world alive with subtle interest and movement, delighting the eye and calming the senses.

Sides of my canvas painted in a dark bluey green colour to compliment my underwater scene.

Signed on the back.

Deep Blue’s art work images are for display purposes only therefore please check artwork dimensions.
