I was commissioned to complete this painting by a collector in WA. Although the process of creating a work in my desert series is basically the same – lots of light layering with coats of varnish in between – how it all comes together is quite organic. It’s always an adventure. I feel this particular painting has a certain restraint which worked very well to create the sense of vastness I wanted for its portrait orientation.

Painted on the sides so will not require framing.

Finished with two coats of varnish for surface protection.
