Original abstract, modern expressionist painting by David Clare

I love letting the paint do its own thing. I deliberately covered this canvas with all sorts of rough, random textures, then let the paint drip down the canvas from opposite edges. This resulted in all sorts of wonderful patterns, and mixtures that could not be purposely manufactured. I was using so much paint that it even lifted the label from one of my paint brushes, and it slipped onto the canvas. And, I left it there…a happy accident perhaps? (see photos) Some artists carefully remove the finest paint brush bristles from their work, but I feel these elements are part of the artwork, and show the process of making the art.
