How any painting is completed depends on how it begins, in the case of my more abstract works with mark making in charcoal. I wanted to convey the idea of arriving somewhere calm and peaceful and interesting, but not too descriptive, more a feeling. I turned the painting as I worked and realised it could sit either vertical or horizontal, depending on the space it would hang.
Painted neatly on the sides so framing is optional.
Finished with two coats of varnish for protection.
Signed on the back.
Packaged in biodegradable bubble wrap and a cardboard carton.
I do my best to photograph my artwork accurately, but due to differences in monitors and devices, colour and contrast may vary slightly.
