Tip Toe Through The Daisies & Gazza, The Lawn Needs Cutting by Rosemary Legat – Acrylic paint and acrylic ink pen on 2 x 300 gsm mixed media paper sheets.

While activating my mixed media paper sheets simultaneously I had thoughts of creating two abstract garden paintings that could work well together, but also work just as well on their own.

I applied paint intuitively in layers, firstly using cool colours only, followed by adding shapes, marks, lines to start forming my abstract garden views on both pieces.  I continued to work back and forth between the two pieces.  I subsequently added a couple of warm colours and continued building my spontaneous markings, shapes, moving back snd further while creating the cool and warm coloured markings.  A gold glazed to soften and add a slight translucent glow was my final layer on both paintings.

I feel the look of these two pieces are a little wild and overgrown just like my backyard at the moment where our rustic garden beds are a little neglected.  Our crazy weather has not been conducive to getting stuck into gardening.

Both pieces require framing therefore my artwork gallery includes examples of how this unique duo could look framed and hung.

Both paintings are 56cm (W) x 76cm (H) = total dimensions 112cm (W) x  76cm (H).  Please check dimensions as in situ images fare or display purposes only and many not be to scale.

I paint organically therefore the dimensions include a rough 1 cm border which can be covered during your preferred framing method or embraced and remain exposed once framed.
