Distant Ocean by Michael Cartwright

A moderately textured landscape near the beautiful tourist town of Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia. It where the forest meets the sea. I was inspired by the sloping landscape, the distant ocean and community of houses by the far away beach.

Spontaneously painted using a combination of palette knife and brush. Artist quality oil paint on professional grade stretched canvas. The sides are 4cm thick and are painted consistent with the color scheme of the subject.
