About Doorway – Abstract Landscape Painting Doorway Rock Robe South Australia Vibrant Colours

As an artist you never know when inspiration is going to take a hold. However, a great way to spark creative flair for myself, is to hit the road and head to nature.

Sure enough, a road trip to Robe in the South East of Australia is where I found my latest burst of energy.  The beauty of nature and fresh sea air frequently sets my expressionist side into gear.

Along the coast a stunning rock sits in the ocean. Both seas and winds have eroded the limestone over time creating a marvelleous wonder for the eye. This rock absolutely commanded my attention and I captured this on canvas.

A mellow array of colours surrounds a solid rock that sits perfectly in an abstract ocean and sky. As waves swirl and hit the rock, the light shines through an opening mimicing a doorway.  The beauty being that as you move around the coast more doorways can be seen as the direction of viewing changes. This depicts the meaning of the painting. A beautiful reminder that there are always doors of opportunity for you and you never know just what other doors may be awaiting you around the corner.
