Custom electronics capture gestures that control the primary colour proportions, which are then photographed combined with various optical elements. The reflections and refractions also give rise to new colours through light synthesis, like mixing coloured paints.

Photographed in high resolution using the renowned Sony FE 90mm Macro G OSS prime lens, this piece features light passing through multiple stacked optical elements – including the patterned base of a lead crystal vase. Note how colours other than the primaries red, green, and blue are created, including orange, magenta, and yellow. And yes, it’s a photograph!
