Additional Information

Drought Has Broken by Rosemary Legat – With thoughts of water abstract scenes sneaking into my imagination after completing Waters Edge and Yabby Billabong I moved on to create a further diptych but this duo does create one larger abstract landscape when hung together which is different from my two previous sets.

Acrylic paint, acrylic ink, inktense pencils & gouache sticks on two artist grade canvas sheets.

Both sheets are 40cm (W) x 50cm (H) and signed on the front.

This duo started with two intuitive layers of applying acrylic paint in Australian outback inspired colours.

Sombre thoughts of draught and at times, water scarceness across our country, came to mind, followed by the feelings of relieve, in addition to the colours, look and smell of freshness around us when the rains come.

Challenging my more positive feelings and thoughts further layers and details added to create this light, bright water outback minimalistic landscape with only the hint of the dark bare trees as a reminder of harsher, challenging times.

My work is organic therefore the dimensions of these paintings includes a rough .5 cm border which can be covered during your chosen framing method.

As they both require framing to hang my gallery photos include pictures of how this pair could look framed and hung.

Please check dimensions, in-situ images for display purposes only and may not be to scale.
