On a cold Winter day during a reprieve from the rain, after gathering flowers in my garden, I felt inspired to arrange a still life composition with pieces of china, to create a floral, cheerful feel of Spring. Flowers (and the containers we put them in) bring light and joy into our lives, particularly during these dark times we are living through.
I enjoy including vases or objects in my still life paintings, from my collection of vintage or antique ephemera. I’ve always had a love of retro china and ceramics.
