“Dreaming” by Teresa Franks is an original acrylic painting on canvas from the “Timeless” series which incorporates the essence of Australiana with the idea of non-linear time. Stretched and ready to hang. Signed on the front. Other paintings in the series are: “Hmmm”, “Om” and “Journey”.

“”Dreaming” is my interpretation of K’Gari (formerly known as Fraser Island) – past, present and future. Mother Earth watches over the islands’ native animals, birds and plants through the ripped fabric of time – the ocean and sand within her. The background represents Girra and the dunes of K’Gari, the red represents the blood spilled both physically and emotionally for all species who inhabit the island and the blue is the ocean and life-giving water. Some of the the “rips” show the mark of the dingo as he also dreams of living in peace in his environment, the birds fly free and the flowers dream of flourishing.”

The painting took many days and hours, each brushstroke and mark making made deliberately to give such a beautiful finish. This painting would hang beautifully on any wall. The colours are striking very much suited to the surrealist genre Teresa likes to explore.
