Driving the Great Ocean Road by Desley Wilson

I’ve driven the Great Ocean Road many times, most recently a few weeks ago on a family road trip. It’s not far from where I live. The dreamy views along the way were the inspiration for this painting. I don’t actually like driving the Great Ocean Road myself but much prefer being the passenger, gazing out to sea, in a kind of hypnotic daydream. The heathland at the 12 Apostles was low and non descript but on close inspection was sprinkled with a multitude of minute colourful wildflowers…..made me think ‘I must go back in Spring’
