Early morning at Spray point,  Plein Air  painting by Vicki Sullivan – I love the way nature is always changing in the light. This painting was painted plein air, on site at Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula.
I love to get out and paint in nature.
My plein air work is so much more fresh and immediate than my studio work which takes many layers.
Plein air  work is painted in one go, painting while looking at my subject and dealing with weather and all sorts of other conditions. Responding to nature as she changes. It gives me a chance to explore the brushwork and respond to Nature.
