Ember Tides by Sibylle Zinnocker

I don’t paint with an idea of what I want the outcome to be, rather I am led by intuition and often find out after the fact what my work is about.

In this latest work with the moody blue seascapes, it is all about the contrast in life. The difficult times and wonderful experiences. There is a darkness and light and the juice is in the bright happy moments in-between.

The interplay of complementary colours creates a striking visual contrast, drawing viewers into a world where the tranquility of water meets the intensity of fire.

Sides are painted in white and the artwork is finished with two layers of satin varnish to protect the artwork. I sign my work on the back to allow for the orientation to be decided by the buyer, whilst I usually have a clear favourite of how I would hang a piece, the orientation remains a very personal choice.
