 MY INSPIRATION

initially she was inspired by the worst of the 2019/20 fires.  My husband is a pilot who flies over the top of the fires scanning the blazes and sending the photos instantly back to the control centres so the ground crews can respond accordingly.  He had been away for months already so the devastation and potential for disaster was very much in the forefront of our minds as a family.  Now, after the fires and enduring some of the hardest lock downs in the World all the while suffering our own personal losses, she inspires a kind of re-entrance back into life with hopeful optimism.

HER NAME

I had trouble naming her at first as usually I only do one type of flower and use that name but this one has a lot of different flowers which I have come to feel, after this year,  represent the many and varied challenges we have all had to endure.  After some time examining her, I began to see that the flowers looked a little flame like and that she seemed to be emerging out of them.  I felt that her name was ‘Emergence’.  Rising out of the chaos.

MY WISH FOR YOU

I would love ‘Emergence’ to fill both you and your space with the optimism and hope she imbued in me while painting her.  A visual reminder that now is the time for reinvention, growth and empowerment.

Yours in art, Cherie xxx
