Eucalyptus Forest – This painting of Australian gum trees was inspired by a mushroom foraging trip to Mt.Crawford Forest.

I didn’t find any mushrooms but came across this beautiful stand of plantation eucalyptus trees, and was attracted to their brown and orange bark.

Eucalyptus, or gum trees are the quintessential Australian tree, and one of my favourite subjects to paint. Mainly because of their beautiful coloured bark and the twisted shapes of their trunks.
