Additional Information

Eucalyptus Love by Rosemary Legat – I started with my still life sketch of delicate branches and a number of interesting shaped eucalyptus leaves.  Rather than paint my still life sketch I used the option of negative space painting with white paint, on a base (intuitively created specifically for this piece) until the leaves and branches reflected in my still life sketch revealed themselves to me on my uniquely painted base.  This was followed by the addition of a few dark markings to create additional detail and interest.

This original painting was created, along with ‘Eucalyptus’, to celebrate National Eucalyptus Day in Australia this year.  This painting is lighter in colour and feel than ‘Eucalyptus’, but they make a cohesive pair due to the main colours and the same leaves being used in both paintings.

This painting is on 300 gsm paper therefore requires framing.  Signed on the front. I have included a number of gallery photos to show this piece in different frames and hung in different spaces.
