This large expressive work is part of a series of figurative landscapes I painted while at an art residency in Provence this year.

Through using nude figures in this scenario, it was to express profound and positive feelings of oneness with the earth and

its life forces.  Where boundaries between self and nature dissolve, fostering a deep sense of connection and harmony, hence the

name, “Eutierria”.

This work was painted with several layers of textured tones.  The backlit figures bathe in the euphoric light of late afternoon.

The Alpilles limestone mountains reflecting their glory in the surrounding lake.

Painted in acrylic and oils on unstretched canvas.
